Telewest Broadband: Refer a Friend Illustrations

The 'Refer a Friend' scheme run by Telewest Broadband allowed existing customers to save money on their subscription fees if they introduce a friend to the services they provided. My brief required the illustration of a series of cartoon style faces for use on the Refer a Friend promotional website.

I didn't have access to Curious Labs' Poser Software at the time, the timescale was very short and Telewest required 12 cartoon faces. I decided on a very simple creation process especially as the images were intended to be very small anyway.

The process also allowed me to animate the faces very quickly, which was an added bonus for as they were originally intended to be static images.

The faces were built using very simple shapes, in fact they were mostly spheres. Using the slice option in 3DS Max allowed me to animate characteristics such as blinking very quickly and easily.
